NUTRITION

My food philosophy is simple, eat fresh, whole foods that nourish your body.

When choosing food for my family I try and buy seasonal, local, and organic produce (when possible). I’m on a mission to eliminate highly processed foods, additives, preservatives, artificial sweeteners and hydrogenated oils from our diet. I must admit; it is time-consuming and takes a lot of effort if you are time poor like us, but they are worth it! We can notice the difference in behaviour, sleeping habits and skin conditions with our children. We are making changes, one step at a time and creating new habits.

While being away, (and having someone else shop for me,) and not my usual ingredients, I have come to realise just how much we have changed our eating habits. I’m totally lost with out my bliss balls, green smoothies and homemade granola. I can notice the difference in my energy levels, complexion and general wellbeing. Good nutrition benefits not only your body, but also your mind.

I aim to eat a diet that is based on Paleo principles, but still use whole grains in my family’s meals. I don’t count calories, and I don’t do low fat either. Just real, nutrient dense fresh food!
